A lettuce once told me that you can use a tennis ball to wipe delicate surfaces without leaving a scratch, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg!!

You know those gifs you see of elephants painting and everyones like “oh wow that’s so amazing and intelligent I love elephants”?

If you really love those elephants, read this and stop reblogging those gifs.

"I love women," is not a get out of jail free card. Thicke pulled the same bullshit when he was accused of degrading women in "Blurred Lines": "When we made the song, we had nothing but the most respect for women," he said. How nice of you to say so, Mr. Thicke. Alas, your work shows the opposite to be true. I am fairly certain many of the men who buy sex and consume porn also think they do it because they really, really, love women. NOPE. You love women like I love wine — as something I consume selfishly for my personal benefit and as a product.Meghan Murphy (No, “female-appreciation” is not the same thing as feminism)

Telling a young girl she can’t wear what she wants because it’s not appropriate encourages the idea that men’s reactions should dictate society’s norms, and that all women are meta-Eves, tempting and ensnaring men with our sultry-eyed gaze. My parents’ culture is steeped in patriarchy, in the philosophy of the one-step machismo machine, where there is just one kind of man, and two kinds of women: the angel and the whore. These limited ideas of masculinity breed men who want ownership of women.Fariha Roison (via zubat)

Ancient moon priestesses were called virgins. ‘Virgin’ meant not married, not belonging to a man - a woman who was ‘one-in-herself’. The very word derives from a Latin root meaning strength, force, skill; and was later applied to men: virile. Ishtar, Diana, Astarte, Isis were all called virgin, which did not refer to sexual chastity, but sexual independence. And all great culture heroes of the past, mythic or historic, were said to be born of virgin mothers: Marduk, Gilgamesh, Buddha, Osiris, Dionysus, Genghis Khan, Jesus - they were all affirmed as sons of the Great Mother, of the Original One, their worldly power deriving from her. When the Hebrews used the word, and in the original Aramaic, it meant ‘maiden’ or ‘young woman’, with no connotations to sexual chastity. But later Christian translators could not conceive of the ‘Virgin Mary’ as a woman of independent sexuality, needless to say; they distorted the meaning into sexually pure, chaste, never touched.Monica Sjoo, The Great Cosmic Mother: Rediscovering the Religion of the Earth (via zubat)

There’s a girl who is very interested in me, and I think I’m interested in her too. Her name is Jasmine, and she looks like the Disney princess. She is so beautiful, and she just invited me to her place on Friday for a dinner she wants to cook for me. I want to accept, but I’m so nervous. I haven’t “been” with a girl, and it makes me so anxious thinking about it. I’m a big, silly dummy.

please please PLEASE stop attacking women’s looks in arguments!!!!! if you disagree with a woman’s policies or ideas or statements, say so, but do you really have to comment on how she’s fat and ugly too? women have been put down for not looking “good enough” since the beginning of time and you don’t need to continue that trend in order to make a point
